I started this piece a year ago and took a long break from it, but am really happy I finished it up. I had just heard a lecture on Yoruba masquerades and considered what it would mean for a spirit to manifest in the physical world. Water is the shape my spirit might take. I just saw the Toyin Ojih Odutola show at Jack Shaiman Gallery and thought of this piece again. I highly recommend the show if you are in New York!!
